When a robot duplicate of King Kong named Mechani-Kong is unable to dig for the highly radioactive Element X at the North Pole, the evil Doctor Who and his sponsor, Madame Piranha (Madame X in the American version), decide to kidnap the real Kong. As an insurance policy, they kidnap Lt. Susan Miller as well as her boyfriend, Lt. Commander Jiro Nomura, and Cmdr. Carl Nelson (Kong developed a crush on Susan when she, Nomura, and Nelson visited Kong at his home on Mondo Island). Kong later escapes and heads for Tokyo. Susan and the others also escape. Who and his minions follow Kong and send out Mechani-Kong to recapture him. Susan is then grabbed by the robot and taken to the top of the Tokyo Tower, where a battle ensues between Kong and his robot duplicate.—Brian Washington

A grand old Japanese hotel is trying to get a prestigious contract as the site of a summit meeting of important foreign officials. Unfortunately, this hotel is quite popular with the Yakuza (Japanese gangsters) and is a favorite target of theirs for extortion. They employ a variety of schemes to con the hotel out of 'hush-money.' The hotel needs to rid itself of the Yakuza and finally begins to fight back by hiring Mahiru Inoue, a lawyer who is an expert at dealing with these criminals on their own terms. Journalists Ichiro Sakai and Junko Nakanishi cover the wreckage of a typhoon when an enormous egg is found by local villagers. The pair joins up with Professor Miura and discover that the egg has been sold off to Mr. Kumayama of Happy Enterprises. Backed by the greedy Jiro Torahata, the businessmen seek to commercially exploit the egg. Mothra's fairies soon arrive and are aided by the journalists in a plea for the egg's return to Mothra and Infant Island. As their requests are denied, Godzilla emerges from the typhoon wreckage and heads toward Nagoya. Having lost their good will, Sakai, Junko, and Miura must make a plea of their own to Mothra and the people of Infant Island to help save Japan from Godzilla.—Mosura
