WWII created a shortage of labor in England. So, they started migrating workers from India in large numbers to work their fields and factories. Many youths from Punjab took this opportunity to make a life for themselves in England. Soon, this spurred other youth to find ways to migrate to the UK. The Commonwealth Immigration Act of 1962 put an end to migration. It was now difficult to move to England, but the dream persisted.An elderly Manu Randhawa (Taapsee Pannu) runs away from a hospital in London and meets immigration lawyer Puru Patel (Deven Bhojani). Manu wants a visa to India, but Puru says that getting her an Indian visa is difficult due to her past actions. Manu knows that only Hardy can get her back to India.
She requests his assistance in connecting her with her ex-lover Hardayal "Hardy" Singh Dhillon (Shah Rukh Khan). In Laltu, Punjab, an aged Hardy is ecstatic to receive Manu's call after 25 years. She asks him to meet her in Dubai so that he can bring her back to India through the Dunki route because she is unable to get an Indian visa. Manu, and her friends Buggu and Balli board a flight to get to Dubai.25 years ago, in 1995, Manu and her friends Balindar "Buggu" Lakhanpal (Vikram Kochhar) and Balli (Anil Grover), live in Laltu and yearn to immigrate to London for a better life. Manu's house was mortgaged, and she worked as a cook at a Dhaba, Buggu's mother had to work as a guard at a local factory and Balli's mother used to sew clothes to make ends meet, so he worked a barber.
Poor and uneducated, they are unable to procure a visa despite trying various methods.
The agent tells Manu to learn wrestling, so he can get her a sports visa on the Indian Wrestling team for the Olympics.One day, Hardy, an ex-army officer, arrives in their village. Manu's brother Mahinder (Suhail Zargar) had saved his life when he was shot by terrorists. Mahinder was a civilian, but carried Hardy on his shoulders to the nearest military hospital and even stayed with him for many weeks till he was out of danger.
Hardy had come to return his personal belongings, but realizes that Mahinder has died in an accident, leaving Manu and her family in a poor financial situation. Mahinder was survived by a widow (Jaanvi Sangwan) and her son.Hardy promises to help Manu reach London in return for her brother's kindness. Hardy starts to teach wrestling moves to Manu. When Manu returns to the agent, she finds that he was a fake and he ran away after taking money from Balli (Rs 30,000) and Buggu (Rs 150,000). Buggu was asked to pose as a doctor, with fake degrees, but he fails the simple questions from the immigration officer. Balli was asked to marry a UK citizen who was supposedly in India but turns out many other men had paid their agents to marry the same woman, who never existed.When they are told by Hardy that by passing the IELTS test, it is easier to get a UK student visa, they enroll at an IELTS coaching class taught by Geetu Gulati (Boman Irani), where they meet Sukhi (Vicky Kaushal). Sukhi wants to travel to London to save his ex-girlfriend, Jassi, who was married off to an NRI man who physically abuses her.
When Geetu makes fun of Hardy in class, Manu stands up for him and defends him. She says that a good teacher is like Hardy who hand holds the students and makes them practice, instead of laughing at them. Hardy falls in love with Manu.
Since Geetu is not an effective teacher, Hardy comes up with a generic speech which can be given against any topic in the speaking test and makes everyone memorize it. But the IELTS test goes differently for everyone, with only Balli get the opportunity to use the generic speech.
Balli eventually clears the exams and the rest fail.Once in London, Balli sends photos of himself in front of a big house and a car, making his friends and family in India believe that he has made it big in the UK. He also tells Sukhi that Jassi has died by suicide after learning about Sukhi failing in IELTS, due to which Sukhi immolates himself.Traumatized by Sukhi's death, Hardy promises to take Manu and Buggu to London himself through the Dunki route. Dunki is the Desi version of the donkey route, for people who enter the UK illegally without a visa.
After a treacherous journey through Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey during which three (Pumpi (Diwanshu Gambhir), Gulaab (Vishnu Kaushal) and Chameli (Komal Sachdeva)) of their cohorts are killed by Iranian security forces, Hardy saves Manu from getting sexually assaulted. On the last leg of the sea voyage, Manu, Hardy and Bugg spent 27 days in a freight container, where the conditions were worse than a sewer.Finally, they reach London where they come across Balli working as a living statue. Balli takes them with him to the place he lives in, where they realize that the photos he had sent were fake, and that he is actually living hand-to-mouth in the UK, and shares a small ramshackle house with a number of other illegal immigrants sleeping in Bunk beds, and in constant fear of being discovered by the police and immigration authorities. They find jobs as cleaning staff in malls and large grocery stores, or as selling adult films.They meet lawyer Puru Patel, who advises Manu to enter into a sham marriage as an easy way to get UK citizenship. Manu reluctantly agrees to go and marry a drug addict for 1000 pounds. Puru says that once Manu is a citizen, she can divorce the addict and then help make Buggu and Balli citizens too.
During the wedding ceremony in church, Hardy is enraged by the drug addict's attempt to kiss Manu, and they engage in a fight due to which they are both arrested, along with Balli and Buggu.
In court, Puru advises them to seek right of asylum to stay in the country by claiming that their lives are under threat in India. As an ex-army officer, Hardy refuses to betray his country, but the rest agree as a means to get asylum and settle in England. Hardy makes a passionate plea that asylum due to poverty or prosecution makes no difference, but the judge follows the law and ignores that human tragedy behind the curse of poverty.
Hardy is soon deported to India, while the rest become British citizens, initially working as living statues.In the present day, Manu tells Hardy that she wants to go back home as she is dying of a brain tumor. Her visa was denied by India as she, Balli and Buggu had claimed asylum in India. Manu also reveals that she never married and only published a card for Hardy, so that he moved on and got settled back in India.
They try to leave for India via cargo container in Jeddah. But the agent tells the Saudi immigration authorities about 4 Indians going to London in a container. This was a ruse. The 4 are arrested.
They eventually fool immigration officials into believing that they are Indian citizens traveling illegally to London. They give their names as Gulaab, Pumpi and Chameli who are still listed as Indian citizens and India accepts them back. The Saudi immigration authorities prove in court that the 4 are Indians and put them on a flight back to India.
Once they reach Laltu, Manu is shocked to learn that Hardy never married out of love for her. Moments after Hardy proposes to her, Manu dies from her ailment. Heartbroken, Hardy puts the engagement ring into her hands and hugs her, watching the Diwali fireworks in the evening.The film ends with an epilogue that no visas were issued to travel to other countries about 140 years ago.

Azad (Shah Rukh Khan) is the jailer of a women's prison in Mumbai who hijacks a Mumbai Metro train along with a group of six inmates: Lakshmi (Priyamani) (The mother figure), Eeram (Sanya Malhotra) (the medic), Ishkra (Girija Oak) (The artist), Kalki (Lehar Khan) (the munitions expert), Helena (Sanjeeta Bhattacharya) (the hacker) and Janhvi (Aaliyah Qureishi) (The composer).
Azad negotiates with NSG officer Narmada Rai (Nayanthara) to ask the agriculture minister Murari Das (Naresh Gossain) to send Rs 40000 Crores in exchange for the passengers' lives. Azad has 376 hostages under his control. Azad says that on the minister's watch 10,281 farmers have committed suicide till date. Interest in farm loans is 13% and on luxury cars is only 8%.
Kalee Gaikwad (Vijay Sethupathi), a global arms dealer, learns that his daughter Alia (Ashlesha Thakur) is also one of the captives and agrees to fund the deal.When Alia questions their motive, Azad reveals his plan of donating the money towards the loan waiver of 700,000 impoverished farmers in the country. Azad says that the government waived off Rs 40,000 Crore loan taken by Kalee. While Kalki's father (Omkar Das Manikpuri) was disrobed in front of his daughter for not repaying a Rs 40,000 tractor loan, as his crops were ruined due to erratic rain patterns. He commits suicide to get Rs Lakhs compensation that the government gives for farmer's death. Kalki murdered the bank collection agent and was jailed for it.
Azad and his gang directly transfer the funds into the farmers' bank accounts and escape from the metro. Through Alia, Azad reveals his name as Vikram Rathore to Kalee. Kalee recognizes this name from his past.Meanwhile, Azad meets Narmada and her daughter Suji (Seeza Saroj Mehta) for a marriage proposal. Suji likes Azad and accepts her as her father. Eventually Narmada marries Azad as she can see that Suji really trusts Azad.Azad and his gang next kidnap the health minister (Ashwin Kaushal) and demand to introduce better infrastructure at every government hospital, in exchange for the Health Minister's life. 3 years ago, Eeram was a doctor at a government hospital where 60 children were admitted for respiratory disorder. The dean of the hospital refused to sanction Oxygen cylinders till his cut was paid. Eeram did everything she could, but could not get Oxygen for the kids, and they died. The court sentenced Eeram to life imprisonment as the dean proved that Eeram was high on drugs that day, and the cause of the children's death. Azad forces the dean to reveal the truth on national TV.
The infrastructure is immediately upgraded in the list of 236 hospitals given by Azad. Azad and his gang escape again after a shootout between Narmada and her team. Narmada found Azad's location when he asked for a chopper for his evacuation.Soon after their wedding, Narmada finds out about Azad's true identity and confronts him, but Kalee's brother Manish (Eijaz Khan) and his henchmen capture and torture them. However, Azad is saved by his doppelganger, Vikram Rathore (Shah Rukh Khan). Vikram kills all of Manish's goons and shoots Manish in the face.
Narmada finds out the identities of Azad's accomplices and confronts them by disguising herself as an inmate, where she learns about Azad and Vikram's connection. The flashback is narrated by Lakshmi.In 1986, Captain Vikram Rathore was a commando in the Special Ops unit of the Indian Army, who set out on an operation to hunt down the terrorist group responsible for attacking and killing 40 Indian civilians and 6 Indian soldiers. After facing several casualties (27 soldiers from Vikram's unit lost their lives) that were caused by malfunctioning weaponry, Vikram and his team successfully took down the terrorists. Later, Vikram filed a complaint against Kalee, who was the supplier of the weapons.Vikram proves in a military court that the guns provided are faulty, while Kalee argues that the soldiers did not study the manual properly and hence it is a human error and not a machine error.
That night Vikram and his wife, Aishwarya (Deepika Padukone), were attacked by Kalee and his henchman, Murad (Sukhi Garewal). Kalee took Vikram on-board a plane and seemingly shot him to death.
Kalee plants evidence at Vikram's house that he was selling state secrets to the enemy and sends 3 cops to harass Aishwarya and get her to sign a statement against Vikram. Aishwarya was sentenced to death for killing three cops, who were on Kalee's payroll.Afterwards, Vikram was declared a national traitor. Aishwarya was due to be hanged, but is found to be pregnant at the noose, and the death sentence is postponed till her child turns 5 years old.
Aishwarya gave birth to their child, Azad, in prison. When Azad turned five, Aishwarya asked him to prove his father's innocence and provide justice to the oppressed, before she was hanged. Azad is adopted by jail warden Kaveri (Riddhi Dogra), who was sympathetic to Aishwarya.Unknown to the world, Vikram survived the attack but lost his memory.
Vikram was found and rescued by a tribal group in northeast India and rehabilitated in their village. It has been 30 years since then.A hostage in the metro was an inhabitant of the northeast village and recognized Vikram's face in Azad. He tracked down Vikram's colleagues from the Army and brings them to the village.
Vikram accepts Azad as his son, but says that due to lack of memory, he has no feelings for Azad.Back in the present, Narmada's subordinate Irani (Sunil Grover) is revealed to be on Kalee's payroll, when he tries to kill them in the prison. Lakshmi is killed in the resulting crossfire. Azad arrives at the prison and kills Irani in a stampede by opening the prisoner barracks.
Vikram, Azad and his team attack Kalee's trucks, which contains money for the upcoming elections that will be used to boost Kalee's political ambitions. This money has been provided by the mafia, so that they can expand their illegal businesses in India after Kalee forms the next government.
Azad and his team manage to steal the trucks, while Vikram and his old army team get captured by Kalee's henchmen.While Azad was stealing the cash, Nirmala and her forces were busy stealing the electronic machines to be used in the upcoming elections.
Azad releases another video and states that he has stolen voting machines and demands to seal 53 factories in the country, responsible for air and water pollution. The factories are sealed by the government.
Kalee learns about Azad's location in the women's prison. Kalee infiltrates the prison with insider information from Vikram and captures Azad. Kalee wants to know the location of his cash and a fight ensues, where Vikram finally recovers his memory (when Kalee fires on Vikram, but his gun wont work) and helps Azad by hanging Kalee to death.A few months later, STF officer Madhavan Naik (Sanjay Dutt), who helped Azad in the completion of his missions, assigns Azad a new mission targeting Swiss banks.

The movie begins with an opening crawl, giving the viewer some context. Asoka is a child when his grandfather, Chandragupta Maurya, decides to renounce the throne to become a Jainist monk. Before his departure, Asoka's grandfather finds out that Asoka stole his sword and he confronts him. Chandragupta tells Asoka that his sword is cursed to taste blood whenever it is drawn, and he throws it into a creek. After he leaves, Asoka finds the sword and keeps it. The throne goes to Asoka's father, Bindusara, and the movie skips to Asokas adulthood. Bindusara is about to renounce the throne to his successor. He names his son Susima, who has the support of all his brothers except Asoka. When the movie picks up, Asoka is leading his troops in battle against the Takshila army, who have an advantage in numbers. Asoka prevails and kills the leader of the Takshilas. He comes home alive and unharmed, which angers Susima. Susima had ordered General Shivrath to make Asoka conquer Takshila with half an army, expecting Asoka to die in the struggle. Susima orders Shivrath dead and hires an assassin to kill Asoka while he is bathing. Asoka kills the assassin with ease and goes to visit his mother. His mother expresses concern and tells Asoka to leave the city, threatening to take a vow of silence if he does not. Not wanting his mother to never speak to anyone again, Asoka reluctantly leaves. Asoka wanders around, going under the name Pawan, and encounters a beautiful woman. He is immediately stricken with love, and he follows her. After hearing a request for the capture of Princess Kaurwaki and Prince Arya of Kalinga, Asoka saves the woman from attackers who wanted to collect the reward. He discovers that the woman is Princess Kaurwaki and she is escaping from the capital after the prime minister assassinated their parents. After getting to know Kaurwaki and Arya, Kaurwaki's bodyguard decides to go, leaving Asoka alone. The next day, Kaurwaki and Arya are assaulted by bounty hunters. The bodyguard fends off some but leaves to fnish them off. While waiting for him to come back, Kaurwaki and Arya encounter more enemies and try to defend themselves when Asoka comes out and defeats them all. Asoka continues to accompany Kaurwaki in her travels, training her to defend herself while trying to earn her love. At the same time, Kaurwaki develops feelings for Asoka. Bheema, the bodyguard, objects to these feelings, and after a heated argument with Kaurwaki, reveals that Kaurwaki is an adopted child, which shocks her. He tells Asoka, who decides that they should get married. After the marriage, a servant of Asokas mother tells him she is ill. He travels home alone to find his mother in full health. She is ecstatic to see him, and surprised but pleased to find that he has gotten married. However, the king tells Asoka that he must attack Kalinga to prevent an uprising. He goes to find Kaurwaki, who are hiding in the home of a loyal peasant. Their village is attacked by men trying to find Kaurwaki and Arya, and the daughter and grandson of the peasant take the place of Kaurwaki and Arya to protect them. Asoka returns to the burnt remains of the village. He finds Bheema, who is injured. Asoka believes Kaurwaki and Arya are dead and loses his will to live. He begins a devastating campaign and wins battle after battle until he is wounded and taken to a Buddhist monastery. There, he meets a woman named Devi, who, in a struggle, kills a man trying to assassinate Asoka. Because she committed murder, her marriage to another Buddhist is cancelled, so Asoka decides to marry her instead. He remains aching after the loss of Kaurwaki but loyal to Devi. Kaurwaki and Arya return to Kalinga and remove the prime minister from power. Asokas wife is pregnant, and Asoka believes it must be a son and shows intent to train him in the art of murder, which is against the will of Devi. Susima, desperate to stop Asoka from getting the throne, hires an assassin to kill Asokas child. In the attempt, Asokas mother dies, driving Asoka into a murderous rampage culminating in the death of Susima. Asoka kills all but one of Susimas brothers and takes the throne. Asoka leads a massive assault into Kalinga, who is holding the last brother. As he fights into Kalinga, he gains a reputation as a tyrant. Bheema tries to assassinate him but fails and dies in the attempt. Kaurwaki decides to fight in honor of Bheemas sacrifice. The battle commences and Kaurwaki is struck down. Asoka wins the battle. After the battle, he hears that Devi gave birth to twin, a girl and a boy, but she does not recognize Asoka as the father because of the evil he has commited. Asoka wanders the battlefield, heartbroken, when he overhears two soldiers discussing Kaurwaki and how they took her horse. Asoka takes the horse back and searches for Kaurwaki. While witnessing the horrors of his actions in the battlefield, Asoka finally finds Kaurwaki. She tries to attack him, but gives up and embraces him. As they hug, Arya calls out to Asoka. He comes closer and falls; he had been hit by three arrows to the back. After the battle, Asoka reminisces about the tragedies he caused. He returns to his home and throws his sword into the same creek he found it before. The movies ends with a closing crawl telling Asoka's spread of Buddhism.

In ancient India people of Brahmansh community would take care of their spiritual weapon Brahmastra but as years passed by with changing times people started to forget about it.In present day Shiva a DJ has strange connection with fire which never harms him he meets Isha and both fall in love.A Delhi based scientist Mohan Bhargav from Brahmansh community posses a piece of Brahmastra and gets attacked by two evil forces Zor and Raftaar but he manages to overcome them with powers of Vanarastra but the evil queen Junoon manages to control him and tortures to ask about Brahmastra.But Bhargav being protector of it gives his life which is seen by Shiva in hallucinations after he comes in contact with fire he also notices that next target could be an artist Anish Shetty.Shiva and Isha go to save Anish at Varanasi where he tells him the events he saw but Junoon has already reached there to kill him but Anish manages to escape with Shiva and Isha with power of Nandiastra and asks them to take him to Guruji's Ashram in Himachal.On the way Anish finds who actually is Shiva and gives his piece of Brahmastra to Isha an asks her to reach it safely to Guruji as Junoon is following them whose unaware of Guruji's Ashram.Anish looses his life while fighting with Junoon and her men while after lot of hurdles Shiva and Isha reach Guruji's Ashram where Guruji revels who actually Shiva is and his connection with fire.And that Brahmastra has three pieces of which one is missing and if Junoon joins them all together the universe will be destroyed.
