The film takes place in 1983, primarily in Amsterdam and centers in a group of five Dutch friends: Willem Holleeder (Sam Worthington), Cor van Hout (Jim Sturgess), Jan Boellard (Ryan Kwanten), Martin Erkamps (Thomas Cocquerel) and Frans Meijer (Mark van Eeuwen). The friends ran a construction company, which was successful, but squandered all the gains on expensive toys. When the economy tanked, their business took a hit and their office building was taken over by squatters, and such the bank would not give them any credit.Looking for easy money, they decide to kidnap Heineken owner, the tycoon Freddy Heineken (Anthony Hopkins) in order to achieve a very high ransom. The guys decide on Heineken as Cor's father-in-law keeps holding Heineken up as a role model to him and his friends. The guys have to rob a bank's armored car to get cash to fund their kidnapping of Mr Heineken.
They use the money to extensively prepare a soundproof room and to maintain round the clock surveillance on Mr. Heineken.Although successfully capturing Heineken and his driver Ab Doderer (David Dencik), the group eventually face difficulties due to their lack of experience in crime. For e.g., a taxi driver witnesses the kidnapping & reports to the police. While photocopying the ransom note (by breaking into a shop at night), one of the guys forgets to remove the original from the photocopier itself and leave a vital clue with fingerprints on it. They realize their mistake & retrieve it the next day.
Days pass by as they receive no response to their ransom note from the police. Tensions flare as after 3 weeks, there is still no response to their ransom note. Heineken pretends to cooperate with them & helps write a personalized note, which evokes a response from the police, who are ready to negotiate.Cor feels it is his duty to take care of his pregnant wife, Sonja (Jemima West). In the middle of this drama, the 5 guys execute an elaborate plan for the police to deliver the ransom money without revealing their identities. They are seemingly successful and hide the money in the forest. But a couple of days later, they are followed by the police. This scares the living daylight of everyone. The guys retrieve half the money from its hiding place, divide it up & decide to leave the country till things calm down. But they also decide to leave Heineken alone in his hostage room, a decision that would probably kill him. This causes a lot of tension within the group.Jan is the first one to be arrested, when he goes back to release Heineken. He runs into the police, who arrest him & then rescue Heineken. The remainder of the group leave the country with Willem and Cor going to Paris.Willem and Cor plan to remain hidden. However, Cor experiences strong emotional will to phone call Sonja, a dangerous action that could easily reveal their location to the police tracing. Eventually one by one, all remaining members of the gang are traced by the police, as the currency notes were numbered and easily traceable by police.Cor is initially reluctant and has arguments with Willem, but ultimately gives in to his feelings and calls Sonja to tell her about his whereabouts, resulting in the two being arrested by the French police while leaving their apartment.Jan served a 12-year sentence, Martin 8 years, Frans escaped a mental hospital & fled to Paraguay (where he was tracked to 10 years later & extradited to Netherlands), Cor & Willem served 11 years each. Cor & Willem returned to crime to become the Godfathers of Amsterdam. Cor was assassinated in 2003. A significant portion of the ransom money was never recovered.

Nate Norman (Jonathan Daniel Brown) lives in Coeur dAlene, Idaho with his younger brother and their single mom who works multiple jobs to support them. A nineteen year old high school dropout, Nate smokes copious amounts of marijuana with his best friend Topher Clark (Kenny Wormald), a 27 year old who had moved from Boston. The two become increasingly fed up at being nobodies scraping to get by in a city of wealth. One day while he is working his job as a pizza delivery driver, Nate meets a rich playboy who had made his fortune transporting high quality marijuana into the state from Canada. Intrigued, Nate meets with a lawyer to discuss the marijuana laws in Canada, which turn out to be much more lax than in the US. With nothing to lose, Nate and Topher decide to try their hand at sneaking across the border.
Beginning at Kootenai National Forest in northern Idaho, Nate and Topher don camouflage gear and hike north through the woods towards Canada. Upon coming to a road, the two realize theyd made it when they spot a speed limit sign that is displayed using the metric system. Knowing how easily they can travel unnoticed between the two countries, Nate and Topher return to the US to acquire some startup capital.
After salvaging and selling a sunken motorboat, the two head back towards Canada; this time by car; with $1,800 on hand and in search of a supplier. Nates humor falls flat on a Border Patrol Officer, and both he and Topher are sent to the Secondary Inspection Area for full cavity searches. Once safely in Canada, they travel to the nearby border town of Creston, British Columbia. They enter a marijuana dispensary full of people smoking medicinally, and start a conversation with the clerk about his selection. Their pending purchase is interrupted by a greasy man approaching and telling Nate and Toph to walk away, advising them that the buildings surveillance system would surely lead to their arrest should they attempt to transport the marijuana across the border. He then brings them to his run-down apartment and sells them $1,800 worth of weed himself, before promptly kicking them out.
Nate and Toph realize on their way back they had wound up buying Mexican goat-fuckers weed instead of the high-potency strains they had come for, but know they are past the point of turning back and make for the border with their yield. As per their agreement, the much more athletic Topher hauls the weed back through the woods, while Nate drives the clean vehicle across the border and picks Topher up on the other side - but not before he endures another cavity search and Topher gets lost for several hours. Despite selling a lackluster product, the demand for BC Bud in Coeur dAlene proves to be massive. Nate and Topher quickly unload their stash and make their way back to Canada to find a reliable supplier with top-grade product.
Both in the car this time, Nate and Topher are pulled over soon after the border by a Canadian police officer. After a brief but tense conversation, the cop advises them that if they are looking for weed, they should go to the town of Nelson to find the best. Outside of a gas station in Nelson, Topher meets a beautiful girl named Nicole Grefard (Merritt Patterson). Nicole is smoking a joint, and after talking with Toph and Nate she winds up offering to sell them as much as they need. Nicole leads the guys to a nice house in the country, where she lives with her parents and young sister. Her father John (John C. McGinley) brings them blindfolded out to a barn, which turns out to house a massive grow operation. He gleefully shows off his plants, and brags about the potency of his product. The family, all cannabis connoisseurs, smoke the homegrown weed together with the boys over dinner before retiring to the jacuzzi for drinks. Nate and Topher share a serious discussion with John Grefard about the smuggling business, and they eventually form a partnership. Nate agrees to purchase 300 pounds from John, to Tophers initial disapproval as it is much more than they had agreed to run. The boys stay at the Grefards for the night. Topher and Nicole have sex, while Nate swallows a condom full of the Grefards marijuana to take back as a sample. Nate leaves Topher at the house and heads back to the States to find funding for their purchase.
Nate travels to Showgirls Strip Club on the Idaho/Washington border, where he knows he will find a man who goes by the alias of Barry Lerner (Ron Perlman). Barry Lerner is a known kingpin in the drug smuggling business, and runs a chain of cell phone stores in Seattle as a front. Nate had heard of Barry from someone who worked for Brendan Butler (Aaron Yoo), a rival drug dealer in Coeur dAlene. After having a beer sent to Barrys table, Nate approaches Barry with his proposal but is harshly rejected. However, Barry sends one of the strippers at his table to give Nate a private lap dance. The stripper is blatant in searching Nate for a wire and shaking him down for information on Barrys behalf. The scene cuts to Nate meeting Barry Lerner three days later in a secluded parking ramp. Barry samples Nates product, and is greatly impressed. He gives Nate a duffel bag containing $666,000 cash to front the purchase from John Grefard. Before parting, he warns Nate of the brutal repercussions should Nate betray his trust.
With Topher back in the States, Nate assemble six of their close friends to serve as their drug-runners. He puts the crew through military style training and has them wear camouflage ghille suits, and their first transport goes off without a hitch. The gang makes a series of successful runs, and the money begins to pile up. Nate buys an extravagant lake house for his mom and buries a large case of money as a retirement fund. Nate and Topher rent an apartment in Spokane, Washington to serve as a transfer point for marijuana and cash. The boys buy expensive new cars and throw lavish parties with dozens of sexy girls. One night during a run the crew is approached by Brendan Butler, who is also on a smuggling run. Butler demands at gunpoint that they hand over their product, and shoots at them when they make a run for it. The crew makes it back safe with the pot, but tensions over their pay reach a boiling point. Upset with Nate taking on the sole leadership role despite seemingly agreeing to on a 50/50 split, Topher gets into a heated argument with Nate on behalf of the rest of the crew. Nate reluctantly agrees to pay them all triple for that run. Nate throws himself an extravagant birthday party at his familys lake house. Brendan Butler notices the party from his house across the lake, and is enraged at Nate for intruding on his business and social status. While Nate heads to his bedroom with two voluptuous women, Butler storms into the party wearing a black mask and shoots a gun into the air several times. Nate retrieves a gun of his own and runs outside to confront Butler. A very brief shootout between the two occurs before Butler drives away.
Brendan Butler meets with two career criminals, the Mendiola brothers, whom he hires to rob Nate of his cash and drug supply. The Mendiolas go to Nates familys house on the night of June 14, 2006. As a result of the earlier shooting, Nate and his family were staying at a house belonging to Barry Lerner, while Nates crew member Scuzz was staying at the lake house with his girlfriend. The Mendiolas restrain the couple but quickly realize that Scuzz isnt Nate. Scuzz has no idea where the weed, money, or Nate is, but at gunpoint offers to show them a different house belonging to Nate. The brothers drive with the hostage couple to the house, which turns out to be lived in by a different family, and the brothers are shot at after attempting to break in. Scuzz and his girlfriend are surprisingly released from the car alive. After the failed robbery, Brendan Butler is greatly irritated and demands a second attempt, this time including the murder of Nate and Topher. Meanwhile, Scuzz brags to the crew about not ratting them out but receives a beating from Nate for leading the criminals to a house he thought Nate still owned. Butler brings the Mendiola brothers to a spot in the woods where he wants them to hide the bodies. As Butler cockily runs his mouth at the brothers, one of the brothers brutally strangles him and stabs him in the throat, killing him. It is unclear but heavily implied by Nate in a tense discussion with Topher that he had Brendan Butler killed.
Despite Nates ensuing orders to lay low, Topher leads drug runs with people Nate doesnt know. One of them decides to rob the crew, secretly hiding part of his load in the woods on their way back. After returning to retrieve the pot, he is stopped by the police, who had been following him. Facing a mandatory minimum 25 year sentence for Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana, the unnamed thief leads police to the rest of the crew on their next drug run. Through connections of Barry Lerners, Nate hides throughout Canada while his crew is arrested. When threatened with life in prison for the amount of drugs they smuggled, every member of the crew identifies Nate Norman as the leader; including Topher, who at this point concedes that it was always Nate who ran the show. To lure Nate back into their jurisdiction, Idaho police threaten his mother with money laundering charges and a ten year sentence unless Nate turns himself in. To keep his mother out of jail, Nate returns to the US, turning himself over to police immediately at the border.
The film ends with a recap of the crew members sentences. All served various amounts of jail time, and have since been released and are leading happy lives. Nate was offered a reduced sentence to identify his sources of financing and distribution, but refused.

Absolutely bursting with energy, Perry's a fascinating singer, songwriter, and performer who's faced a fair amount of adversity in her career, and whose upbringing was very different than that of most pop stars. This film plays at times almost like a video diary. Perry philosophizes about everything from growing up in a strictly Pentecostal Christian family to her fairy-tale outlook on life, costuming choices, how her own experiences and emotions influence her lyrics and music, her drive to remain true to herself, and the difficulty of sustaining a long-distance marriage with actor Russell Brand. There's also plenty of footage with Perry's costumers, makeup artists, various assistants, and friends, including actress Shannon Woodward. But some of the most interesting interviews are those with her sister Angela Hudson, who travels with show, and her mother and father regarding their commitment to accepting and supporting Perry and her career despite potential conflicts with their religious views. One discussion that's oddly omitted is any hint of why Perry changed her name. While the personal and backstage footage is heartfelt and quite intriguing, the film seemed somewhat lacking in actual concert footage, though viewers are treated to at least parts of "Firework," "California Gurls," "Part of Me," "Last Friday Night," and "Peacock."

A series of strange abductions have occurred in Gotham City. Video footage suggests that Batman, a wanted, costumed vigilante, is behind the incidents. When a mysterious cloaked kidnapper abducts a woman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) arrives to confront the kidnapper and saves the woman when she is dropped from above. Green Lantern then attacks the kidnapper, revealing it to be a monstrous Parademon. The creature defeats Green Lantern soundly, and as he is about to be killed, Batman appears and saves him.The Parademon then attacks both heroes. They escape from the city's police and chase the creature into the sewers, where it charges a Mother Box and explodes. Batman and Green Lantern examine the box, deduce that it is of extraterrestrial origin, and decide to ask Superman for an answer. Another Mother Box, supplied by The Flash (Barry Allen) is being studied at S.T.A.R. Labs. Doctor Silas Stone, father of Vic Stone, deliberately misses his son's football game so he can study the box. Arriving in Metropolis, Batman and Green Lantern fight Superman-who has fought a Parademon previously and believes the heroes are working with it. The battle spreads over a portion of the city; it finally stops when Batman calls Superman "Clark". Superman uses his x-ray vision and recognizes Batman as billionaire Bruce Wayne. The three heroes then begin to collaborate. On planet Apokolips, Darkseid orders Desaad to begin an invasion of Earth in response to the superheroes' discovery of his plans.Vic arrives at S.T.A.R. Labs and argues with his father Silas, who believes that football has no importance in a world that is changing with the appearance of meta-humans. At the Daily Planet, Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern realize the invasion has begun when the box activates and several Boom Tubes appear throughout the world, including S.T.A.R. Labs. An explosion fatally wounds and embeds the Box's technology into Vic, forcing S.T.A.R. Labs to take Vic to an emergency room to save him. Silas loads Vic into a hi-tech medical bed, connecting his son with various technologies. Countless Parademons appear around the world, attacking everyone on sight.The box's technology is connected to Vic and the labs' equipment, transforming Vic into Cyborg. Just as the Flash arrives to save the scientists, Cyborg's systems reveal details of Apokolips, Darkseid, and the invasion plan. At his foster home, teenager Billy Batson sees a Parademon outside and mystically turns into the superhero Shazam. Air Force One is attacked in the air, but is saved by the Amazon princess Wonder Woman (Diana Prince) and Superman. After the heroes gather, Cyborg reveals that the invasion is a prelude to the Terraforming of Earth. Darkseid arrives and proves to be a powerful opponent who defeats each hero effortlessly.Superman is captured. Batman stops Green Lantern and persuades him to help the heroes work together after he unmasks himself. Wayne deliberately allows himself to be captured to save Superman. Green Lantern, acting as a leader, assembles everyone and decides that to defeat Darkseid they must destroy his eyes first, stripping him of his power to use his Omega Beams. Batman arrives on Apokolips and stops Desaad from turning Superman into a Parademon, but because of his brainwashing, Superman goes on a rampage, resulting in Desaad's death. Batman reasons with Superman, helping him reassert his own personality.On Earth, after Darkseid's eyes are disabled, Cyborg connects with the Mother Box to reopen the Boom Tubes and send the tyrant and his army back to their home world. Though the Parademons are gone, Darkseid remains. Superman and Batman arrive and together they force the tyrant into the portal. With the world saved, the once-maligned superheroes gain the public's trust and are honored at the White House. The President of the United States asks whether they have a name. Shazam abruptly announces the name "Super Seven", to which the others object.In a mid-credits scene, an Atlantean ship emerges from the ocean and Ocean Master appears carrying the body of his king, presumably killed during the invasion, calling it an act of war from the surface, for which he vows retribution.

On Isla Nublar, a new park has just been built with genetically engineered dinosaurs. Tragedy strikes when one of the workers is killed by a velociraptor. The founder of the park, John Hammond, (Sir Richard Attenborough) requests Paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and his assistant, Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) to come to the park and ensure that it is safe. Also joining them are Hammond's lawyer Donald Gennaro (Martin Ferrero) and chaotician Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum). When they reach the island, they are amazed to discover that Hammond has created living dinosaurs. However, at the same time, they all have their doubts. Later, Hammond's grandchildren Lex and Tim (Ariana Richards and Joseph Mazzello) join the group in a tour of the park. Sattler leaves the tour to take care of an ill triceratops. Soon the power in the park is shut down by computer systems geek Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight), who wishes to steal embryos from the park to sell to a secret buyer. In the process, many dinosaurs escape their paddocks, including the deadly Tyrannosaurus Rex, who, during a thunderstorm, escapes his paddock and attacks the children, and eats Gennaro. Malcolm is injured and Grant and the children are then lost in the park. Meanwhile, Hammond, Sattler, and the rest of the operations team learn that Nedry (who in the meantime has been killed) has locked up the computer system to cover his tracks. They attempt to get power back in the park in order to escape the island. After shutting down the system, then restoring it, the group realizes that velociraptors are also on the loose, and are now on the hunt for the visitors.—ahmetkozan
