It's circa 1959/1960 in the rural American south. A group of six bikers is heading to Daytona to watch the races, they having made plans to convene at a prearranged stop along Hwy. 17 so that they can ride down together. That stop - a town where no one would make the conscious decision to live - could be mistaken solely for a truck stop in being a proverbial blip along the road. Their stay is extended for what is estimated to be a day when one them, Hurley, has to make necessary repairs to his motorcycle, this delay which doesn't sit well with many of the other five in having to endure the boredom of the town. While some of the townsfolk they encounter see them as an injection of excitement in what is otherwise a proverbial backwater, most consider them no better than animals in not wanting to deal with them at all. One of the townsfolk, teenage Telena, hooks up with one of the bikers, Vance, she already used to danger of a different kind in being the daughter of an abusive father, wealthy widowed Tarver, who in some respects rules the town in regulating the flow of oil to the local service station. While many of the encounters between the bikers and the townsfolk have the potential to be explosive, it is that between Vance and Telena which may be the one, if any, to set off the fuse to the powder keg.—Huggo

In Edgemont, Montana, the teenager Christy Wescot is very connected to her beloved sister Vanessa Locke. On her fourteenth birthday, Christy asks Vanessa to drive her convertible car, but she has a car accident, hits a rock and is thrown off the seat; however Vanessa is trapped in the car that explodes and she survives disfigured and totally burnt. Christy is sent to Pine Bluff Psychiatric Care Center for treatment while her sister is treated by her husband Dr. John Locke at home with the assistance of the nurse Claire Wells. When Vanessa has a heart attack and dies, Christy has a breakdown in the funeral service telling that her sister is alive in the coffin. Then she moves to California for the pre-med, but is haunted by nightmares and weird visions. When the caretaker of the family Joseph dies six years later, Christy returns to Edgemont for the funeral and has a cold reception by John and his mother. However, her niece Amy that is afraid of "dark things" behind the walls of the house asks her to stay in the town for a couple of days and Christy's friend Debbie welcomes and lodger her in her house. After meeting with her agent Rob, self-help author May Ryer hears a distant scream in a parking garage. May gets into her car anyway, and drives home to her husband Ted.May rouses Ted during the night after she sees a masked man stalking outside their house. May becomes confused when Ted nonchalantly identifies the stalker as the same man who tries to kill them every night. Ted calmly tells May they now have to fight for their lives.The masked man attacks May. Ted rescues May, but the man disappears. May says she suspects something supernatural could be happening as she explains she doesn't feel like she lives in a world she understands anymore. May also reveals she cheated on Ted, which caused a rift in their relationship. May still has to insist to the counselor that the danger comes from the home invader, not from her husband.May goes to stay at Sarah's. May asks about a strange scar on Sarah's back, but Sarah catatonically dodges the question.The masked man breaks in that night and attacks Sarah. May splits open the man's head with a hammer before collapsing on the ground beside him.A paramedic helps May recover. The paramedic reveals Sarah went to the hospital and her son Cooper is safe. The medic strangely insists that May follow his specific instructions.While the medic treats May, Officer Pace questions her about the attack. May becomes further confused when Pace mentions that this has been happening to her ever since the parking garage.May becomes overwhelmed by authorities, medics, and social workers asking overlapping questions. May escapes out to her car and is suddenly transported back to the parking garage.May rescues her assistant Edie when she sees Edie being attacked by another man in the garage. May and Edie discover they are both reliving these attacks every day.May and Edie run past more men attacking other women. Edie proposes working together to stop the attackers. May contends that they can't help everyone. May further insists that there is no rationalizing what is happening either.The masked man kills Edie. May ignores pleas from the other women as she runs for her life. May gets away in her car.Ted suddenly appears in the backseat. May is immediately wary of her husband as she realizes they are now outside their house.May and Ted discuss the divide between them. May says she thought she was being punished for infidelity, but after seeing other women experiencing similar assaults, she realized that wasn't true. May says she understands she isn't a bad person.May asks Ted who the masked man is. Ted responds that it doesn't matter because it is simply the way things are. May suggests going inside the house even though Ted reminds her it isn't safe for them in there.May tells Ted she wants to give up but knows she has to continue going it alone. May and Ted embrace. The masked man suddenly stabs Ted to death from behind.May locks herself inside the house. The man produces keys to get inside, which May tells him isn't fair. After asserting that she doesn't deserve what is happening, May stabs the man and they collapse together on the floor again. This time, May removes the man's mask. 2015. A Coruña, Galicia (northwest of Spain). When Carlos meets with Victor's wife Julia in the city by chance while he is in negotiations with Víctor himself, Carlos learns that "the stranger" is blackmailing his friend too, who rejects to pay the money after an illegal bank operation. Trying to save her, Carlos and the children watch as Julia's car explodes, killing her and forcing Carlos to runaway fast. With his car identified as a possible suspect of the explosion, police chief Espinosa starts an investigation while Marta tries to discover where her husband is and why the children aren't in the school. At the same time Alejandro, Carlos and Victor's boss from the Madrid Central Office, calls Carlos in order to force him to keep silent about the illegal operations, more worried about a possible leak to the public eye than about his employee's life. Chased by the police, Carlos is finally trapped in a public park, surrounded by Espinosa and his men, who wrongly take him as a criminal who is menacing his children with a bomb threat. The chief calls Belén, head of the explosives squad, to try dismantle the bomb. Revealing Sara and Marcos the danger they face, Carlos will have not only to convince Espinosa that he is not the enemy, but also to find a way to deceive "the stranger" to reveal his true identity, so he can stop him once and for all before he makes the car explode.—Chockys
