La película trata la historia de dos atracadores y ladrones de coches (el Mini y el Meca), que conocen a una chica (Ángela). Planean nuevos atracos para los que necesitan otro miembro en su pequeña banda, así que introducen en el grupo a un conocido de ellos (el Sebas). También se relacionan con una amiga de Ángela, María, pero que no participa en los atracos.
En los atracos, Ángela participa disfrazada de varón.
La película retrata el modus vivendi de los delincuentes, el consumo de drogas, su relación con la policía (como cuando pasean por el Cerro de los Ángeles en Getafe y les piden la documentación y se tienen que deshacer de la droga que llevan encima). De día duermen, cometen algún atraco con el que vivir y comprar droga, y por la noche, van a la discoteca a bailar y drogarse. No tienen responsabilidades, así que si en medio de un colocón de droga les apetece coger el coche y recorrer 500 Km para ir a la playa, lo hacen. Tampoco les importa conducir drogados o mientras fuman porros. El coche no es suyo, ya que es robado, el dinero que se gastan también es robado. Y si se les acaba, siempre pueden robar de nuevo.
Cuando no están drogados y tienen dinero, pueden parecer unos chicos normales que sólo quieren divertirse. Por ejemplo, salen a dar un paseo montados a caballo por el barrio de Villaverde Alto (de donde son originarios los actores en la vida real). Les advierten de que tengan cuidado con los caballos y de que no crucen la carretera con ellos. Y eso prometen, pero en cuanto están drogados, nada les importa, ni siquiera que se les escapen los caballos que les han prestado.
Aunque viven en Madrid, en los barrios pobres de la ciudad (Villaverde, Vallecas), no todos son originarios de Madrid. El Mini procede de un pueblo de Segovia, llamado Maderuelo. Lleva allí a Ángela a presentarle a su abuela. Pueden aparentar ser buenos chicos o buenas personas, ya que le regalan a su abuela una televisión grande y moderna (para la época). Pero no es más que el fruto de algún robo o comprada con el dinero de algún atraco. Por eso pueden ser "buenos" mientras tengan dinero, pero cuando no lo tienen, lo roban usando armas de fuego y agrediendo a sus víctimas si es necesario.
Realizan algún atraco con éxito, así que se envalentonan y planean un atraco mayor, no a una gasolinera o una tienda, sino a un banco. El Mini, acostumbrado a vivir "a salto de mata" no tiene más aspiraciones en la vida que tener una habitación en la que vivir, aunque sea pequeña, mal ventilada, oscura y de alquiler. Ángela quiere vivir como los demás, aunque sea a costa de los atracos y quiere un piso, en propiedad. Si trabajando de camarera no puede conseguirlo, pues atracará junto a su novio los establecimientos que sean necesarios, aunque sea peligroso.
Cuando dan el golpe al banco, después de planear las rutas de escapada y el tipo de vehículo en el que huirán, algo sale mal. La policía llega antes de lo que se esperan, o los atracados son más lentos de lo que les gustaría. Se produce un tiroteo, en el que muere una señora que hablaba por teléfono en una cabina, muere el Sebas por disparos de la policía, el Mini es herido y aunque consiguen el dinero, es a un precio muy alto.
El Meca, aficionado a quemar coches (podría decirse que es pirómano), intenta deshacerse del vehículo en el que huyeron quemándolo en un descampado, pero la policía lo atrapa.
El Mini y Ángela consiguen llegar a su piso en Vallecas (cerca de la estación de RENFE de Vallecas Villa) con el botín, pero el Mini está malherido. Ángela busca un médico privado en las Páginas Amarillas, ya que si acuden a un hospital, posiblemente los detengan. Cree que con dinero podrá pagar la medicina y a la vez, el silencio del médico.
Un médico acude al domicilio. Se asusta al ver que se trata de una herida de bala. Ángela le da un fajo de billetes intentando comprar el silencio del médico. El médico ve que la herida es grave y que requiere hospitalización. Pero Ángela le muestra un arma. El médico asustado, acepta el dinero y promete volver, pero no lo hace. Ángela, se da cuenta de que la han engañado. El Mini se muere y ella sólo ve 2 opciones: ser detenida y quedarse sin el botín y sin su novio, o huir con el dinero.

A woman's dismembered body is found in a trunk in the garage of a rented house in Saltdean, a coastal resort about 5 miles from the large seaside town of Brighton, which is in the county of Sussex in England. The discovery is made by police after the lettings agent for the property reports a break-in at his premises and the theft of the lease for it. The tenancy was for one month, taken out by a man called John Campbell, which turns out to be a false name. Identifying the man who took out the lease is therefore one strand of the police inquiry. It eventually leads to a vacuum cleaner salesman who is believed to be posing as John Campbell but this turns out to be a red herring. Identifying the woman is another strand, beginning with the trunk, which bears a label indicating it was sent from Lewes (an inland town in Sussex) to Brighton by rail, with the initials of the owner, J.S., written on it. The inquiries lead to a woman whose initials are J.S. and who lives in Greenwich, London. Her house is adjacent to the mooring of the original Cutty Sark. Her address was discovered through an impression on a notepad in the rented house; the writing became legible by heating iodine in a metal spoon and holding the paper over the vapor. The police believed this J.S. to be the murdered woman but she is very much alive and just happens to have the same initials. What seems at first to be another red herring turns out to have substance; although she at first denies it, when she learns that there has been a murder, she confesses that she did meet the man who rented the holiday home and called himself John Campbell - they got talking on a train to Brighton and she ended up spending the night with him at the house in Saltdean. She tells D I Fellows that one of the rooms was locked - the one where it is believed the dead woman's body was before being transferred to the trunk. The dead woman's identity is eventually established through investigation into dental records. D I Fellows arrives at the identity of the killer through a process of elimination, although he keeps this knowledge to himself; instead, he arranges for key witnesses and the unwitting suspect to be brought together, to prove his theory. Proving that the death was murder rather than the accident the murderer claims it to have been is down to D S Wilks and hinges on the fact that events unfolded over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

A semi-fictional account of Henri Charrière's time in the penal system in French Guyana - some of it spent on infamous Devil's Island - is presented. It's the early 1930s. On Papillon's initiative, Papillon and Dega enter into a business arrangement: Papillon will provide protection for Dega, while Dega will finance Papillon's escape attempt. The story of Chernobyl told through a newly discovered hoard of dramatic footage filmed at the nuclear plant during the disaster and newly-recorded, deeply personal interviews of those who were there, directed by Emmy Award-winner and Russian-speaker James Jones. This gripping film tells the story of the disaster and its consequences entirely through extraordinary and immersive archive, shot at great risk in the hours, days, weeks and months after the accident by a handful of cameramen given access to the plant. These cameramen lived side by side with the "liquidators" who went to incredible and often fatal lengths to try to prevent another explosion and make the reactor safe. The reality of their bravery and heroism is more harrowing than any drama can portray. The footage, most of it never seen before in the West, has only now come to light after an extensive trawl by director James Jones of the state archives and other sources in Ukraine and Russia. For thirty-five years the story of what happened in April 1986 when the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant melted down has enthralled and horrified. Radio programmes and scripted dramas have all told their version of events. But no-one has made a documentary that reveals the full, shocking reality of this cataclysmic, world changing event - until now. Though many of the rescue workers died, a surprising number who appear prominently in the footage are still alive today. The film features newly recorded audio interviews with people involved in the original key moments of the footage - their memories of that fateful night and the aftermath haunting but also deeply humane. Amongst those interviews is Lyudmila Ihnatenko, whose firefighter husband Vasily died days after the accident, and who was pregnant at the time. She went onto lose her baby hours after she was born. "All the radiation I was inhaling, she absorbed it." From a ten-year-old schoolboy to a Russian general, we see how events at Chernobyl transformed the lives of millions of people. Soviet propaganda plays out as a backdrop, initially saying nothing of the disaster, Gorbachev eventually appearing to downplay what happened, putting his own citizens and the rest of the world at great risk. The film reveals how many people suffering from radiation poisoning, cancer and other illnesses were told that it had no connection to the accident. The state was in denial and was willing to lie to its own citizens to prevent the truth getting out. This film witnesses the incredible physical suffering of men who had sacrificed themselves for the greater good. The film shows how Chernobyl and the cover-up that followed sparked unprecedented distrust in the authorities, giving birth to a protest movement in Ukraine which would eventually lead to the collapse of the Soviet Union. The modern resonance of a disaster which threatened millions of lives but was tragically mishandled by those in authority will have an obvious resonance to the contemporary audience. Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes is the full, unadulterated true story of what happened in one of the most iconic but least understood tragedies of the twentieth century.
