This animated film starts with Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (voice of Tara Strong) observing Bruce Wayne/Batman (voice of Kevin Conroy) meeting with Commissioner Jim Gordon (voice of Ray Wise). Gordon shone the bat-signal to call Batman due to a robbery in progress. Batman heads off to take care of it while Batgirl pursues the robbers herself.The getaway van is driven by two punks, one among them being Paris Franz (voice of Maury Sterling), nephew of Gotham City's biggest crime lord Carlos Francesco (voice of John DiMaggio). Batman chases the crooks in the Batmobile while Batgirl leaps onto the van. She blows the backdoor open, letting some other criminals shoots at Batman. Paris shoots at Batgirl, causing her to fall off the van. She and Batman end up catching one criminal, but Batman is upset with Batgirl for getting in the way and almost harming herself.Paris and his buddy meet with Francesco. He is pissed at his nephew for Batgirl's intervention, where four of Francesco's men were caught, as well as $100,000. Francesco orders Paris to get the money back, or he'll have him killed.Paris and his goons go to rob a warehouse. Batgirl finds them, which Paris was counting on since he's developed an infatuation with her. He sprays her with knockout gas, but she has enough time to knee him in the groin before hiding out in the vault. Paris and the others get away. After she comes to and the police arrive, Batman meets Batgirl on a rooftop. He expresses his concern for her work on the case and orders her to stay off it. This angers Barbara, making her feel like Batman won't trust her.The criminals are on their boat after a night with some prostitutes. Paris gets a call from Francesco, and when his buddy picks up the phone, he gets shot in the head. Outside the boat are four shooters on a motorboat. Paris and his other cohort make their getaway by rigging the boat to explode as the hitmen board it, killing them all.Paris sends a video message to Batgirl so she can go looking for him. Batman is with her while she watches it. He knows it's a trap, so he tells her to stay off the case. She doesn't listen and follows the clues, leading her to find another phone with a message from Paris. She is led to an apartment where she discovers Francesco's dead body. Two of Francesco's men show up, forcing Batgirl to flee. Batman arrives and starts kicking ass.Batman and Batgirl stand on a rooftop arguing. She is finally pushed over the edge and she begins to attack Batman. He defends himself but is quickly subdued. In the heat of the moment, Batgirl kisses him. She then takes off her cowl and suit, revealing her breasts and they proceed to have passionate sex. This later fills Barbara with regret.The next night, Batgirl calls Batman as he is driving to find Paris. The Batmobile gets hit with an RPG by the docks. Batman ejects himself to safety and is faced by a bunch of crooks. Batgirl shows up on her motorcycle. She finds Paris and beats his face to a bloody pulp, but stops before she kills him.Paris is arrested, but Batgirl realizes what Batman was saying in regards to his concern for her. She meets him as Barbara and tells her she is giving up being Batgirl.A while later, Batman meets with Detective Harvey Bullock (voice of Robin Atkin Downes) at a crime scene where four men have been found dead, all of them with big smiles on their faces. Batman knows this is the work of The Joker (voice of Mark Hamill). He and Bullock go to Arkham Asylum to meet with him in his cell. The Joker appears to be obscured in darkness. Batman tells him that this will end with one of them killing the other. The man doesn't respond and continues stacking playing cards. Batman grabs his hand and sees the man has white powder on his hand. He pulls the man into the light and sees he is not Joker, but a decoy.The real Joker is meeting with another man to buy out an abandoned amusement park for a sinister purpose.We see a flashback of Joker before he became what he is now. He was a struggling comedian tending to his pregnant wife Jeannie (voice of Anna Vocino). The two had been in financial troubles for a while, and he was trying to find a way to support his growing family.Bruce is in the batcave trying to figure out what Joker's motives are. Alfred (Brian George) tells him he can't save everyone.Barbara is with her father in his apartment. She hears a knock at the door, thinking it's a friend of hers. It's The Joker, holding a gun. He shoots Barbara in her abdomen and sends her crashing onto a coffee table in front of Gordon. Two of Joker's men come in and beat Gordon before taking him away.Another flashback shows Pre-Joker meeting with two gangsters at a bar as he tries to come up with some money. The gangsters want him to help them break into the chemical plant where he once worked so that they can pull off a heist at the card company next to it. They show Pre-Joker the mask they want him to wear, which is that of The Red Hood. Two officers find Pre-Joker at the bar and inform him that Jeannie has died in an accident. The man expresses grief and says he has no more reason to go through with the crime. The gangsters give him their condolences but insist that it's too late for him to back out now.Batman finds Barbara at the hospital. The doctor tells him that she will never be able to walk again due to the through-and-through bullet injury to her spine. Bullock also implies to Batman that Joker may have raped her. Barbara wakes up and tells Batman that Joker is trying to prove a point, and that Gordon is "top of the bill".Gordon is taken to Joker's amusement park where he is tortured by some of Joker's freak show henchmen. The freaks take Gordon onto a ride through a house of horrors as Joker puts on a performance with the other freaks. Gordon is forced to see pictures of Barbara nude and bloodied, with Joker's intention being to drive Gordon insane.The last flashback shows Pre-Joker and the gangsters getting ready to pull off the heist as Pre-Joker wears Red Hood's mask and cape. They engage in a shootout with security as Batman arrives on the scene. The gangsters die while Pre-Joker is startled by Batman. He trips over his cape and falls into a vat of chemicals. He is swept out through a pipe into the river. Once he gets out, he sees his reflection in a puddle. His skin is bleached white, his lips are red, and his hair is green. His mind then warps into insanity, and he is now The Joker.Batman finds a clue that leads him to the amusement park. He finds Gordon, who remains sane. As Batman heads to pursue Joker, Gordon tells him to capture him "by the books" to show that their way works. Batman follows Joker into the funhouse as he fends off the freaks who try to kill Batman. Joker taunts Batman by saying the world isn't worth fighting for and how one bad day can turn anyone insane, as it was one bad day that led Batman into becoming what he is now. The two of them fight until Batman throws himself and Joker out the window. Joker tries to shoot him, but the gun only pops out a "click bang bang" sign. Batman tells Joker that he doesn't want either of them to kill each other, and he offers to help him. Joker seems surprised at first but declines, saying it's too late for him. He then starts to tell a joke about two men escaping from a loony bin. After the punchline, both Batman and Joker start laughing together until eventually only Batman's laughter is heard.During the end credits, Barbara is seen in a wheelchair. She goes into her room and onto the computer, where we see the Oracle logo, indicating that she has new work to begin.

Under guidance from manager Vicente Feola (Vincent D'Onofrio), young (just 17 years of age) Pelé (Kevin De Paula) utilizes his street football skills to lead Brazil to the World Cup in 1958 in Sweden, against the reigning Olympic champions Soviets.
Brazil was lucky to qualify, has mixed race team and injuries to boot as it entered the final. They are forced the play the 17-year-old reserve.In 1950 Brazil. Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Dico) is a young boy, making a living, polishing boots. He and his buddies play football (which is made out of stolen clothes). Brazil is playing the world cup final against Uruguay.
Celeste (Mariana Nunes), Pele's mother doesn't like Dico's interest in football and wants him to stick to polishing shoes and earning a living for the family (they are dirt poor). Dondinho (Seu Jorge), former footballer and father of Pelé, is more supportive.
Brazil loses the 1950 final 2-1 to Uruguay. Dico promises his crying father that one day he will win the world cup for Brazil. Celeste tells Dico that Dondinho was a gifted footballer but was dropped when he hurt his knees and ended up as a janitor.While helping his mom scrub floors at a rich person's apartment, Dico hears that Waldemar De Brito (Milton Gonçalves), former Brazilian footballer and scout, is looking for players for his club. Dico wanted to be like Pele (a goalkeeper for a local club, Vasco), and Jose teases him with this nickname. The nickname sticks.
José Altafini "Mazzola" (Diego Boneta) is the son of the rich family and bullies Dico. Dico shows up at the selection trials and soon, his team is up against the snobs headed by Jose. Dico's team doesn't have boots, so they steal some bags of peanuts and try to sell them to raise enough money to buy boots, but Jose sees them and gets into a fight with Dico, thwarting his plans. But his friend manages to get them some old shoes.The final match is attended by Brito. Soon Dico is down 6-0. He sees Dondinho in the audience and feels sad. Pele removes shoes. Barefoot, Pele shows his skill as Jose and his team can't even touch him, while he scores a goal. In 10 mins, Pele brings the score to 6-5, but the clock runs out. The crowd chants for Pele. Brito gives his card to Dondinho, but Celeste is dead against the idea of Pele playing football.
She forces Pele to join his father as a janitor at the local hospital. The life goes out from Pele's eyes. Dondinho can sense this and trains Pele with mangoes, to keep his spark alive. Pele grows to be a teenager. One day Celeste sees them. She relents and calls Brito.
Brito recruits Pele for the Santos football club. Pele is 15. He is selected for the youth team. due to the new styles of coaching, Pele's confidence is shot, and he earns a reputation for not scoring goals. He decides to leave, but Brito brings him back from the railway station.Brito tells Pele how the original football was developed as a form a martial art by African slaves who escaped their Portuguese masters. When they returned, after slavery was abolished, martial arts were outlawed and thus the Africans brought their art to football. But this art was lost in Brazil and Brita wants Pele to bring it back.
In the next match, Pele abandons the formation style being forced by his coach and plays in his own way, scoring a spectacular goal.
Pele is on his way and soon plays for the Junior team. Soon, he is selected for the Pro team. Pele is the top scorer even there.Jose Mazzola and Pele are both selected for the Brazilian team for the 1958 world cup. Pele is only 16.
Feola (Vincent D'Onofrio), the head coach of Brazil national team at 1958 FIFA World Cup doesn't like the Ginga style as Brazil thinks it lost the 1950 world cup due to that style of play. Jose represents the modern European style.
Pele's colleagues are Garrincha (Felipe Simas) and Zito (Fernando Caruso). Feola is dead against the traditional Ginga style and makes Pele promise never to revert to it. This promise is broken in the very next match, when Pele reverts to Ginga style, but ends up busting his knee in the process.
It is too late to replace Pele on the team and the physio is not sure if Pele can play. Feola is criticized for allowing the Ginga street style of football in the national team.Brazil heads to the world cup after Paraguay withdrew from the qualifiers, giving Brazil a free pass. Swedes are favorites to win. Pele is under medical care by the team doctor.
First match is vs Austria, which Brazil wins 2-0. The knee is still too weak, and the doctor advises Feola against playing Pele, but Feola wants the doctor the clear him. They hold England 0-0, but 3 of their star players (including Jose) are injured. The next match is against the Soviets and Feola has no choice, but to play Pele. Pele has a torrid time and is pushed around by the large Soviets and booed by the crowd.
But Pele survives and plays the next match with France, the Semi-final. Half time is 1-1, but Pele is starting to find his feet. At half time Pele meets Jose and admits that Jose should play instead of him. Jose tells Pele to play with his heart, as Jose is afraid to be on the pitch, while Pele is not.
Pele reverts to Ginga and scores his first goal at the world cup. Pele scores a hat-trick in the match and Brazil wins 5-1.Brazil is to meet hosts Sweden in the finals. George Raynor (Colm Meaney), the head coach of the Sweden national team at the 1958 FIFA World Cup, promises that his boys will take Pele out of the equation in the final. He calls the Brazilians undisciplined and abnormal (due to their mixed-race team).
Feola tells his boys to play the Brazilian way and abandons his European formations. No team from outside Europe has ever won the world cup in Europe.
The Swedes hunt Pele down and knock him around on the field. Soon, they are up 1-0. Pele spots some blacks watching the match in the last stands and is inspired. He reverts to Ginga and the Swedes can't touch him even as he engages half the team and allows his team mates to score 2 goals.
Now the entire Brazilian team starts playing in Ginga harmony and they smile as they enjoy themselves. Pele scores 2 goals in the final. The crowd now applauds the Brazilians. Brazil wins 5-2.Pele was declared a national treasure in 1961. Pele and Brazil won the 1962 and 1970 world cups as well. He remains the youngest winner of world cup at 17 years, and the only player to have won 3 world cups.

Her parents seem to be over it and want her to be also.Grace Wesley (Melissa Joan Hart) is Brooke's history teacher. She is very upbeat and was even voted teacher of the year. She lives with her elderly father whom she takes care of.Rev. Dave returns and is having a bad day when Reverend Jude (also from the first film) shows up. He will be finishing his doctorate in the states and will be staying there.Amy returns as a journalist she was diagnosed with cancer at the end of the last film and became a Christian while interviewing the Newsboys. She just came from the doctor, and is now friends with the band, and tells them she is cancer free. Now that her illness is in remission, she wants to seek God out while just living her normal life.Martin Yip also returns as a Chinese college student. He became a Christian at the end of the first film and is now seeking answers to many of his questions.At the end of class Grace notices Brooke seems upset and asks her. Brooke tells her she is fine but later seeks her out to talk. They talk about her loss and she asks Grace how she stays so upbeat all the time. Graces answer is Jesus. Later the Salvation Army comes to pick up her brothers things and a volunteer gives Brooke a Bible she found. Her family is atheist which is why she is confused as to why her brother would have one. Its all marked up with notes and she begins reading it.In class Grace is talking about Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr's teachings about peaceful solutions. Brooke raises her hand and asks if it is also similar to Jesus' teachings. Grace agrees and recites some of Jesus's words from the Bible to show the similarities. One student takes out his cell phone and tells someone Grace has been preaching in class.She is called in for disciplinary action and put on paid administrative leave while they investigate. She gets a lawyer from the teachers union a very young lawyer named Tom Endler (Jesse Metcalfe). He is not a Christian but feels as though that will help their case. At the next meeting they offer her a plea just apologize to the Board for her wrongdoing and it will all be over. She refuses as she doesn't feel as though she did anything wrong she was just quoting someone, not preaching. The case now goes to court.The prosecutor, Peter Kane, goes to Brookes house to convince her parents to get in on this. It will help her get into college. They want to make this very public so Grace will be the example God is dead. They agree despite Brooke not wanting anything to do with it.Rev. Dave is called for Jury Duty and he is selected to be on the jury for this case. Brooke and her friends begin protesting as the case goes on. Her best friend Marlene is Amy's niece. She calls Amy to try and get her to report on the story.As the case goes on, Brooke goes to church and sees Martin. He, as a new Christian, has many questions, but she has more, and begins to ask him. She becomes a Christian in the church that night. Martin however is disowned by his father for his faith. He later decides to return to China to become a pastor. Meanwhile, Rev. Dave and other pastors receive a subpoena to submit their sermons from the last three months for review. He refuses.Many witnesses are called to testify. Graces principal expresses how Grace had invited her to church one time (to support their students) and her colleague says how she talks about God all the time on school property. Grace and Tom need a new strategy they decide to make the case that Jesus was a real historical figure, just like Gandhi and MLK. They call in historians as witnesses and make their case. Suddenly Reverend Dave becomes sick and they must replace him with an alternate. He has appendicitis. They replace him with a young woman who dresses differently colored hair and makeup, piercings, tattoos.Despite this, its looking positive when Brooke barges into the courtroom. She wants to testify to help her teacher. They agree thinking she will only help. However the conversation they had about her brother comes up. Kane makes the case that if they never had this conversation where Jesus was mentioned, she never would have asked the question in class or become a Christian. It seems as though all hope is lost and Tom tells Grace to prepare to lose.To show their solidarity, Brooke and all her friends show up at Graces door that night singing How Great Thou Art by candlelight.The next day Tom is nowhere to be found. Suddenly her barges into the courtroom and calls Grace to the stand without her knowing. He badgers her questioning her about her faith, causing her to cry and ask Why are you doing this? He goes on to ask the jury to just convict her already. He is found in contempt as he goes on and on, yelling, saying that this is the first step lets just silence all the Christians, and if this doesn't work, fine them, jail them, etc. He tells Grace later that he had to do it that way without her knowing so that the jury would see her true reaction.At the Newsboys concert they phone in Amy to pray for the outcome. Amazingly enough, Grace is cleared of all charges. The replacement juror is a Christian, showing not to judge a book by its cover. They all go outside and a huge crowd is there singing and celebrating with Grace that God is not dead.After the closing credits, Rev. Dave is arrested by the local police for not giving copies of his sermons for the last three months in response to the subpoena. He goes into the police car peacefully, and doesn't resist arrest.
