About twelve years earlier, Angelo, still only a fisherman, sickened by the degradation and neglect in which his country and its sea were sinking, had decided to commit himself personally. Studying during the long nights spent at sea, sacrificing the little free time allowed by a backbreaking job, he had decided to run for mayor. His simplicity, combined with an innate charisma had convinced the people of Pollica and Acciaroli to elect him. The program was simple "to go forward you had to go back", that is to recover the values of the past, to return Acciaroli to the splendor of the past. The policy of legality and respect for the environment. The politics of listening and getting busy to solve problems. The politics that annoys the powerful and the scoundrels. In a short time the fisherman mayor had made a real cultural revolution, transforming a fishing village into a paradise for the approximately twenty thousand tourists who frequented it every summer. Unfortunately, this sudden prosperity, this sudden wealth had also attracted speculators, entrepreneurs colluding with the underworld, drug dealers: the Camorra to Acciaroli. Angelo takes sides against these powers in the first person, often alone. For this he is killed, leaving his wife, his children, his brothers, an entire community in despair.

Dave Reichert of the King County Sheriff's Department investigated a series of brutal murders by a serial killer who became known as the Green River Killer after the location where some of his early victims were found. All the victims were women involved in prostitution. The police used the tools available at the time including an FBI profiler. They even interviewed serial killer Ted Bundy who was on death row at the time and offered his insight into the killer. Several men came under suspicion and were interviewed at length and at one point, Reichert was convinced he knew the identity of the killer. It was not until DNA matching came into being that they had the evidence to proceed. The killer eventually admitted to killing 71 women.—garykmcd

Ms. Leena, an art teacher for an 4th-grade elementary class, begins her lesson instructing her class to pair up and to begin to paint one another's portraits. This assignment creates a conflict between student's Anthony and Ricardo, as the former refuses to associate with his partner. The conflict escalates and Anthony is led outside of the classroom to have a discussion. While Ms. Leena is speaking with Anthony, a teenager is seen running towards a nearby classroom and spray-painting an 'X' on the classroom door, after which he hastily leaves. At this peculiar event, Ms. Leena ends her talk with Anthony, telling him to rejoin the class, and proceeds to call a co-worker to report the suspicious behavior. After her phone call ends, she grows even more concerned as she realizes her classroom door is also marked similarly, with a spray-painted 'X'.Ms. Leena rejoins the class and begins to clean the paint that was painted on Ricardo by fellow classmates. However, she is interrupted by the sound of blaring alarms. Locking the door, turning off the lights, and closing the curtains, the class goes into an urgent lock-down situation. While doing the best she can to keep her students quiet and pacified, Ms. Leena witnesses outside of her window two young teenagers putting on armored vests and distributing guns. The two gunman proceed towards doors with spray-painted 'X's, one being the most recently marked. Gun shots and screams are soon heard as Ms. Leena begins to barricade her own door. Realizing the safety of herself and her class is at increasing risk, she has her students move to a nearby classroom that a gunman has just left, though not before realizing one of her own students is missing.
