Beyond their mutual animosity stemming from their less-than-pleasant recent first encounter, it seems like Amelia Lewis and Vic Manning are always competing against each other, most importantly for a commercial property each wants to purchase in White Oak, Nevada for her/his dream store: hers a year-round Christmas store; his a chocolate shop. As each bid has its merits--hers all cash, his above asking--the real-estate agent must consult with the property owner who has the final say. Amelia and Vic separately have the same idea to discover the property owner's identity and make a personal plea directly to him: Elder Dubois, who lives an hour away in Castle Creek. They arrive there unannounced at about the same time to make individual pitches. Elder tells them that he is unable or unwilling to make a snap decision concerning the property. As Elder is all alone for Christmas for the first time since his wife recently passed and he's long been estranged from his young-adult daughter Marjorie, Amelia and Vic offer to help him with anything until he makes up his mind; he suggests that they chair Castle Creek Commercial Center's annual Christmas decorating competition. He and his wife always enjoyed doing that, but this year he hasn't the spirit without her. The competition, which is a bragging-rights-only one against the nearby town of Crystal, always seems to end up being a competition between Castle Creek's own merchants, which is probably the reason Crystal has won five years straight. The few things the Castle Creek merchants can agree on are the same Winter Wonderland theme year after year for ease, and featuring one merchant each year on a rotating basis. This year it's the pottery shop owned by the most outspoken and demanding of the bunch, Rowena Marson. In turn, Elder invites them to stay in his home rather than spending money on hotel rooms. In working on the decorating competition together, they must bring the merchants together as a cohesive whole--which means cooperating themselves. In the process, Amelia and Vic start to fall for each other. Could their emerging feelings be able to overcome their suspicions about each other concerning the property and the kind acts toward Elder, which could be seen solely as wanting that upper hand?—Huggo

While Sam's initial impression of Harry is still the same - self-absorbed, adolescent minded, the type of guy that strings girlfriends along until it becomes too messy for him - it isn't until midway through their trip that Sam views Harry in a slightly different light on an admission: that Harry had long ago come out as being pansexual. That discovery at least leads to them having a more fulsome discussion about their lives on the remainder of the drive. With bumps along the way over the next few years, Sam and Harry teeter on the brink of friendship to being in that same vein of friend for Sam that Malcolm was and Stasia still is. Two women, Amy and her friend Letty, are running in a park. Amy recently graduated from law school and celebrates with tequila shots with her law school friends. One of the male law school students brings their CrossFit trainer with them, Dimitri, asks Amy out, and she declines the offer flat out.Later that night, as she is raiding her fridge, Amy hears a knock at the door. She thinks it is her neighbor Chickie and opens the door. Amy is attacked by Dimitri, who asks her, "why did you have to say no?" Implying she brought it on herself. Amy screams, and scenes are shown implying she is getting raped and the camera fades to black.Amy is shivering on the floor and calls 911. The police interview her and ask simple questions. She is beaten pretty badly and cries, recalling the details. Amy remembers that when he was attacking her, he was smiling. Since Amy knows who attacked her, they do not do a rape kit on her and tell her to get a home security system.Letty comes and takes Amy to the hospital. They are unable to administer the rape kit because the equipment is down for repairs. The ER nurse directs them to a hospital that is three hours away, but Amy declines the rape kit all together because she wants to go home and rest. Her body is badly bruised all over.Kristie Alley arrives and is playing Amy's pageant queen mother. She is talking in a thick southern accent and is concerned for her daughter but slightly accusatory. (She asks Amy what she was wearing.) Kristie Alley is all about appearances and saving face. She wonders if Amy should even go through with pressing charges because of how it would look if word got around.Amy doesn't back down and meets with the lawyers. The lawyer says that to even file, the charges would take six months due to a backlog in rape cases, and if convicted, her attacker would serve at most 11 years. Later in a parking lot, Amy is attacked by Demitri again, he tells her to drop the charges. She files a restraining order against him.With the stress of everything, Amy realizes that she missed her period and is pregnant. Amy tells Letty, who is sympathetic and hopeful for a miscarriage. Amy decides to keep the baby, even though she has a new job, and the baby is from the rape. Amy views the baby as a symbol of hope and empowerment. Kristie Alley is less supportive then Letty. She doesn't want Amy to throw away her life on a child born from rape. Kristie Alley tells Amy that she will destroy her reputation and wants nothing to do with the baby. Amy throws her out of her house.Dimitri finds out about the baby from his lawyer. He stalks Amy. Since the restraining order trial hasn't taken place, he isn't afraid of the law. He denies all charges when questioned again and insists that he is a "nice guy." Dimitri breaks into Amy's house and tosses the very pregnant Amy around while waving a gun in her face. He demands she drop the charges. Amy throws herself from a first-story window while six months pregnant, and the neighbor Chickie gets out her rifle to scare him off. When the police arrive, they are still no help. Neither is Amy's Lawyer.Amy is now on bed rest, Kristie Alley visits to try to change her mind about keeping the baby. Amy is determined to become a mother. She goes into labor later, while grocery shopping. Amy has a daughter named Maddie.The court case on the stalking doesn't go Amy's way. Dimitri gets a slap on the wrist with probation. Amy relocates from North Carolina to Atlanta during a hurricane to get away from her attacker.Years later, Maddie is now a little girl with a lemonade stand. Amy and her daughter are a team. Amy is understandably a little overprotective. She joins Maddie's school security counsel and takes every precaution to ensure her daughter's safety. Letty visits and decides to move to Atlanta to work at a dance studio. She moves in with Amy and Maddie.Amy is served summons papers. Her attacker is filing for custody of Maddie. He hasn't been charged with the attack, so he is innocent in the eyes of the court. He is also asking for once a month visit and for Maddie to take his last name. Amy decides to represent herself in court.In court, Amy makes a case for herself. She argues that Dimitri raped and stalked her. The judge tells her that this is family court, not a criminal court. The law is not on her side, and the judge tells her to find proper representation. He orders a paternity test. A lawyer watches the trial and offers his help pro bono.Kristie Alley is deposed in the case and testifies on behalf of her daughter. Amy shows her pictures of her granddaughter. Kristie Alley offers to put the kid in some modeling classes and an envelope of money. Amy declines and tells her mother that she is ignorant and selfish.Maddie is in Karate class, and Amy decides to enroll herself in self-defense classes. The sensei helps Amy get her mojo back and gives her some legal advice. Maddie and Amy have a frank conversation about Maddie's father and Amy tell Maddie that her father left them simply because Amy said "no".Dimitri is in town and has been loitering around school. The principle of the school interrogates him and asks for more security on campus. They monitor the situation and record him on camera.In court again, the new lawyer brings evidence to the judge. The evidence shows previous charges of assault against Dimitri when he was a police officer and the footage of him outside of the school. The judge is starting to side with Amy.It may be too late because Dimitri is following Amy and Maddie everywhere. Including a school recital. He grabs Amy outside of the school and threatens her. He wants to start over, and Amy tells him no. He grabs her, and Amy pulls out her self-defense skills, she also records the whole conversation.Back in court, Dimitri fails to show up for the third or fourth time. Amy speaks on her behalf and stands up for herself and her daughter. Amy plays the recording of Dimitri threatening her for the judge. The judge rules in favor of Amy, and the custody is closed forever. The rape case is still open in North Carolina. Currently, only 18 states allow women to block the parental rights of their rapists. Despite his young age, Patrick has already retired as a former Silicon Valley app developer, he finding his place being home in Milwaukee doing philanthropic work. Believing Patrick out of his league, Hugo is surprised to find that Patrick seems to want to spend time with him, that only fostered by Kate. While feelings do develop between Hugo and Patrick, Hugo, less assured of himself than Patrick, doesn't know what to do with what is happening between the two of them in light of he heading back to New York right after Christmas. Working on the festival, discovering some unfinished business at Kate's home, researching the issue or the train station which he has always loved, getting some advice from Aiden about his own unexpected Christmas romance, and learning what Vogel and the other partners have decided about his fate at the firm will all factor into whether Hugo believes there is a potential future for him and Patrick.—Huggo

The French Secrets of a Ballerina is based on Honore de Balzac's Un Seul Amour. The title character is ballet-star Clara Biondi (Micheline Presle), whose peak years are shown in flashback. Clara finds herself victimized by blackmailer -- and former lover -- James de Poulet (Robert Vattier). As it turns out, she will do anything to keep her sordid past from husband Gerard de Clergue (Pierre Blanchar). Director Pierre Blanchar (who also appeared in the film) evidently felt that the flashback format was the best method to convey de Balzac's tricky narrative style.

Trigger Whiskey Saloon is the main center of a social life in a Stetson City. Sexy dark-haired singer Tornado Lou is a star of the saloon. Its owner Doug Badman loves her, but she keeps to turn him down. After one of her songs there appears an unpleasant distraction. Colonel Ezra Goodman with his daughter Winnifred came in and they started to advertise the benefits of prohibition. Winnie pours out a Grimpo's glass of whiskey and the gunman goes wild. He sinks his teeth into her father's violin and then grabs the girl. In this moment a Lemonade Joe appears. He scares the gunman off, saves the girl and then asks for a glass of a Kola Loka (i.e. Gulp Cola) lemonade. Both Winnie and Lou fall in love with him immediately. Doug Badman has to admit that he has no lemonade in his store.
Ezra Goodman makes the best use of the new hero and starts to sell the Kola Loka lemonade. The public influenced by the Joe's mastery with gun moves gradually from Trigger Whiskey Saloon to Ezra's prohibition restaurant. Naive Winnie decided to make Joe her fiancee and presses in this direction on all occasions. His resistance is futile. Tornado Lou finds that she has no chances and her love turns to hate. When Joe leaves on business, all is set for a happy end. Then Horace Hogofogo comes. He is shocked by the state of the Trigger Whiskey Saloon and promises to help his brother Doug Badman in this mess. He goes to the prohibition saloon, shoots the sheriff right in public and then asks for a glass of whiskey. Ezra refuses and Horace with a wicked smile leaves the saloon. The guns start to return to Trigger Whiskey Saloon. When Joe comes back again he finds the Ezra's bar in ruins. He challenges Horace and wins. But he doesn't want to take his life, instead he asks for support in advertising the Kola Loka lemonade. Horace sprinkles alcohol in Joe's face and the hero loses consciousness. Horace escapes and plans revenge. He tricks and kidnaps Winnie and sets a trap in a near Death Valley. Grimpo and two other killers wait there for Joe. Tornado Lou comes there too, as she wants to see him dying. In a critical moment she finds that her love is still too strong. She kills the three bandits and sets Joe and Winnie free.
Winnie on her mother's grave opens her heart and reveals the rosy future plans. But on the cemetery there is Horace too. He is going to rape her right there on a sacred field. Tornado Lou, who came with her, tries to defend Winnie, so Horace kills the singer. Desperate Doug Badman kills Horace. When dying, they discover that Horace, Doug, Lou and even Joe are siblings. Joe first makes sure that Winnie is alive and in no case related to him. Then he revives all present by a few drops of a Kola Loka lemonade. The again united relatives decide to release a new alcoholic lemonade WHIS KOLA and use their talents to a joint family profit.

In London, 1945, BBC radio correspondent Mark Trevor broadcasts to his listeners the details surrounding the disarmament of an unexploded German V-2 rocket. He is soon joined in the field by Sara Scott, a foreign correspondent for The New York Standard . The two journalists have been lovers for three weeks, and although Sara declares her undying love for him, Mark is hesitant to state his true affections for her. Later, in her hotel room, Mark tells Sara how he grew up in the small English village of St. Giles and joined the BBC prior to the outbreak of World War II, but Sara points out that eleven years are missing from his life story. After Mark finally professes his love, Sara confesses that she is engaged to her boss, American newspaper publisher Carter Reynolds. Before she can break her engagement, however, Mark admits that he is married. Carter then arrives in London on his way to Paris, and quickly recognizes the sudden alienation of Sara's affections. He offers to take her with him to Paris or back to New York, but the heartbroken Sara insists on staying in London until she can settle her personal life. Following the German army's surrender in Italy, Mark is transferred to Paris, but before he leaves, he and Sara have one final meeting at which they proclaim their eternal love to each other. The next morning, Carter rushes to be with Sara before the BBC announces Mark's death, as he was just killed in an airplane crash. Sara then suffers a nervous breakdown and is institutionalized in a nursing home for six weeks. With the war now over, Carter offers to send Sara home on an ocean cruise following her convalescence, but she decides takes a train to St. Giles before setting sail for America. Arriving in the seaside town, Sara is unable to find any accommodations, as the post-war surge in tourism has filled all the local inns, but she meets Mark's young son Brian by chance and is soon invited to dinner by her dead lover's unsuspecting widow Kay. Though Kay offers her lodgings for the night, the grief-stricken Sara cannot stand being surrounded by Mark's things and bolts from the home. The next morning, Sara is found on the docks unconscious and is carried back to Kay's house, where she is ordered to rest by the local physician. Kay then convinces Sara to stay on in St. Giles and write a book about Mark, still unaware that Sara was her husband's mistress. Later, Sara is shocked to see Alan Thompson, Mark's childhood friend and co-worker, who somehow survived the plane crash that took her lover's life. Though he promises to keep her secret, Alan asks Sara to leave St. Giles before Kay learns the truth about her relationship with Mark. Meanwhile, back in New York, Carter is informed by Dr. Aldridge, Sara's physician at the nursing home, of her current whereabouts, and he rushes to St. Giles in hopes of bringing Sara home. Upon their first meeting, Carter and Alan quickly realize that they are in similar positions, as they both love women who are in love with the same dead man. Following an evening at the cinema, Kay questions Alan about her husband's final weeks, and she soon surmises that Mark was having an affair. Learning this, Sara confesses all to Kay, but tells the widow that Mark had ended their affair and was planning to return to his wife and child. The next morning, Kay, relieved, rushes to the train station to say goodbye to a thankful Sara, who then promises to send Brian a photograph from the top of the Empire State building.
